Uric Acid Kidney Stones

Kidney stones are very dangerous invaders of the human body. These particles are extremely undesirable to have because of the negative effects that they have on the health of human beings. The appearance of uric acid stones in the kidneys may take quite a while since the amount of uric acid in the blood has become high. There are also other effects that high uric acid levels in the blood may bring about, such as gout. Most of the time, people with uric acid kidney stones either have gout or develop gout. Nonetheless, the stones caused by the acid in the kidneys are a completely different subject, and the treatment for these stones and for gout are also very different. The only common form of treatment in the two is the elimination of purine-rich foods in the diet.

Purine is actually the substance from which uric acid comes. When purines are digested and processed in the body, they create a by-product that is also a natural substance, and it is called uric acid. The uric acid in the body is always a waste product, and so it goes directly into urine, but if the levels of this acid are high, the possibility for gout and kidney stones appear.

In order to prevent or manage the disease of kidney stones due to uric acid crystallization, an individual should avoid eating purine-rich foods. These foods include beer, other alcoholic beverages, anchovies, sardines in oil, fish roes, herring, yeast, liver, kidneys, sweetbreads, legumes, dried beans, peas, meat extracts, gravies, mushrooms, spinach, asparagus, and cauliflower. By preventing these foods, the levels of purine will be significantly reduced, and the formation of uric acid stones may be diminished and soon, stopped.

Exercise is also a good way of eliminating uric acid stones. Sweating is important in every exercise so make sure that you sweat enough every day. Have a regular workout routine and you can save not only your kidneys but your entire health as well. Also, follow the tips given by your doctor regarding medications, taking them, and the contraindications. Make sure that they are prescribed by a real doctor because self-medicating is never advisable.
