Lower Cholesterol without Medication

Cholesterol is a constituent of the cells in our bodies, but like any other substance in the human body system, too much of it can be dangerous. There are different types of cholesterol, namely the LDL, HDL, and VLDL. The LDL or low-density lipoprotein is one of the bad cholesterols that can cause cardiovascular diseases when the levels are too high in the body. VLDL stands for very-low-density lipoprotein which is an even more unhealthy type of cholesterol, and the main component of this is triglyceride. Fruits and vegetables are always healthy additions to the diet. Along with whole grain and whole wheat foods, these can make an excellent menu. Make salad full of fresh greens and sliced tomatoes, olives, bell peppers, beets, potatoes, carrots, add light olive oil dressing, and a piece of whole wheat toast with non-fat cheese. This can definitely make one delicious lunch. But if you want something heavier, you can always add a whole chicken breast or grilled fish fillet with brown rice or a chapati. For dessert, have a delicious yellow mango or a fresh slice of watermelon. If you aren’t satisfied with that, have some more fruits like apples, bananas, melons, and different kinds of berries.

Avoid smoking and other unhealthy vices. These are aggravators of any kind of medical problem. There have been reports that show that alcohol can help increase HDL levels, especially wine. Although it has been scientifically proven, it is not advisable to use this method to treat high cholesterol as it can make other health problems worsen, and even cause a medical problem itself.

Having high cholesterol can be a dangerous health condition, but not all problems need drugs for solution. So take these simple advices and use them in your daily lifestyle. Not only will you be able to lower your cholesterol level naturally and without spending a lot, but also safely and without side effects. And the best thing about this is that cholesterol isn’t the only bad thing in the body that they eliminate – these natural methods also maintain and improve the overall condition of the health.
