Fish and chicken breast are the best source of protein for acidic individuals. Avoid frying these meats, especially in deep oil. Broiling, boiling, stewing, steaming, and sautéing are the best ways of cooking them without producing excessive oils and fats, substances which can aggravate acidity.

Rice, corn, and other grains are good as carbohydrates sources. Breads should be whole wheat to prevent acidity. Soda crackers and graham crackers are excellent snacks for those who suffer acid reflux. Water is the best beverage, but fruit juices can also be delicious thirst-quenchers. However, it is good to drink at least 8 glasses of water throughout the day to keep the acids in the stomach neutralized.

The most important ingredient in making the acid reflux diet complete is discipline, because without it, you might not be able to resist the temptation of your favorite chocolate bar or a plate of spaghetti with red sauce. You should know that you will be the first to suffer if you don’t follow these diet guidelines and restrictions.
